Wikia does not generally accept requests for individual school or university communities.
However, English-speaking users from universities, colleges, schools, and individual classes and class projects are welcome to form an open sub-wiki within the existing Students Wikia site. Students in other languages may create mini-wikis in the Education wiki for their language (see the list below), or an adult may propose the creation of a Students wiki in a new language.
English-speaking educators and administrators may create articles about lesson plans, teaching techniques and other topics of interest at the English Education wiki.
Larger wikis like Students give you the benefit of having other wiki editors on the same site who can help you maintain your wiki and prevent it from being vandalized, and avoids the likelihood of having an inactive wiki if there are not enough people wanting to edit this topic. You can start your project instantly Students mini wiki to get started.
You can make a portal for a school or university within the students wiki, and add category tags to distinguish which pages relate to your own institution. You can do this by typing [[Category:School name]] on your pages. By using "related changes" link in the sidebar, you can view the changes made just to the pages relating to your own school or university, rather than the changes of the entire wiki. For example, Special:Recentchangeslinked/Category:Help shows changes made just to the help pages on this wiki.
If you can demonstrate that there is a large enough community willing to create content and maintain a wiki separate from the Students wiki, please request a wiki, giving a detailed description of why you feel your school or university needs its own wiki, and how you plan to sustain interest over time.
