These are the current rules for the #wikia IRC channel on freenode. Bring up changes for discussion on the talk page.

The following are rules for #wikia, the main Wikia support channel. Other channels may have different rules.

• Obey all freenode policies, as well as observing the below:
• #wikia is for Wikia support. It is encouraged that socialization be taken to #wikia-social, and non-relevant questions be referred to the appropriate channel, if applicable
• Please do not cause off-topic disruptions when users are being helped. Feel free, however, to ask your own questions
• Do not use an offensive nickname; doing so may be grounds for immediate removal from the channel
• Do not run automated scripts or bots on the channel without getting them approved first (sannse usually handles said approvals). Unapproved bots will be removed from the channel and the owners may be banned if they continue to bring the bot on and use it without approval
• Please read the channel topic, displayed as you join the channel. It will list any important updates. Also, do not change the channel topic unnecessarily
• Do not advertise links to other sites, or advertise in general. Doing so may be grounds for immediate removal from the channel
• Use common sense. If saying or doing something will make others upset or angry, then it's best that you don't say or do that thing
• Please do not shout (speak in all-caps) on the channel. It annoys many users and it does not make your text any more noticeable. Shouting after being warned not to numerous times may result in immediate removal from the channel
• Do not paste more than 3 lines of text into the channel. If you have a large amount of text to paste, put it on http://wikia.pastey.net instead and just link to your pastebin in the channel.

By observing the above rules, you can help make the Wikia IRC a better place for everyone!
