[edit] Help Wikia create your community
Completing a volunteer task from here will allow you to collect a taskstar. These are icons that you can collect on your user page to show how many volunteer tasks you have completed. There are bronze, silver and gold taskstars depending on the level of the task.
If your local Wikia needs help with any task, or if you have an idea that needs someone to get it going on Central or the whole of Wikia, then please list it on the talk page.

This is a task for someone familiar with templates on MediaWiki. We need a "visit" template that can be used for languages that don't yet have their own translated version.

Idk how much time it would take actually lol, nvm that. So I need a interface for Nexon Wiki, on the home page. A color that is light with like blue or something writing.. whatever goes well together :). Anyone please do this for me?
I love how the Marvel Database handles templates and I wish to have something similar set up on Color Sorting. This is what I've come up with so far:
{{Template:Color Article
Alternate Names = <!-- The template should automatically place this info where the * is. If blank, the * should not be included in the page. -->
Hexidecimal Code = <!-- The template should automatically place this code where the ** is. If blank, this page should be automatically categorized as [[Category:Articles that lack a hexcode]] -->
Justification = This color was named for <!-- The template should automatically place this info where the *** is. If blank, this page should be automatically categorized as [[Category:Articles that lack justification]] -->
Image = <!-- The template should automatically place this image where the **** is. If blank, this page should be automatically categorized as [[Category:Articles that lack images]] -->
Source = <!-- The template should automatically place this info where the ***** is. If blank, this page should be automatically categorized as [[Category:Articles that lack sources]] -->
This color is a shade of = <!-- A bot should recognize the keywords: black, gray, white, pink, red, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and brown and categorize the color accordingly. If blank, this article should be categorized as [[Category:Articles that are not categorized by shade]] -->
? = <!-- A bot should recognize keywords. I do not have a complete list of keywords but here are some of the keywords the bot should recognize: fruit, animal, vegetable, gem, metal, drink, person, wood, and plant. The bot should categorize the color accordingly. For example, The color cherry is named after a fruit and the color alice is named after a person. If blank, this article should be categorized as [[Category: Articles that are not categorized by name type]] -->
<!-- Contributors should also have the option of adding additional sections and tables. These can be left blank and skipped. -->
}}
{{Square| ** }}
*
=Codes and Numbers=
Please check out [[Hexidecimal Chart]] to see what codes are available to name.
The hexadecimal code that matches this color is **
=Justification=
This article will be judged by what is written as a justification and may be deleted or rewritten if the justification does not adhere to the [[Color Sorting Policies]].

[edit] Tasks which will take you more than four hours.
I have a task that I think is new... and needs to be available to all the wikis at www.wikia.com. As a concept, I am browsing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events and want to have something similar, where:
1. There is a calendar where people can add events much like Microsoft Outlook (i.e. one-off events, and recurring events based on a monthly, weekly, 2nd and 4th Wednesday etc., series of events).
2. The calendar is viewable (potentially in a list form like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events), to that people can see everything that's on a particular day (days) into the future (or past, I guess).
3. The view of the calendar is able to be filtered according to a person's preferences, to via either All Events, or All Events with this tag or that tag, or that tag. (e.g. a Member is a part of a Club which is a member of a Division which is a member of a District; if they select the three, they get all events in the first, OR the second OR the third tag). More on that last one to the Volunteer who sees this as a challenge.
Any takers? Happy to discuss requirements/testing...
I think it would be really useful to most community wikis.

AoCWiki would love to get a fresh main page up. At the moment what we have is functional but something a bit more in depth would be great.

The Sin City wiki is EXTREMLY lacking! It looks like some guy built one and then abandoned it. I've been working on it to make it somewhat respectable but I'm ignorant on how to use photo's correctly and there are like TWO articles before I started. Can anyone help?

The volunteer portal needs tweaking. It would be good to be able to see who has claimed a task, and if they have completed it, by looking at this page.

Age of Conan is looking for translators to join on converting existing pages to additional languages. Not all pages will need to be translated as some pages will become all but null and void after the game is released so would not want to bog down translation time with those pages. If you feel you could help out. Please do so, ideally would would be able to do this for an on-going period, IE: a couple of months if not longer. Or until such time as other content editors who are eager in the game join up. Should you have some interest in the Game itself, then that's even better! Thanks!

- Update -- I've been able to get the German Wiki on and they are building up a large database. Some Italians will be joining soon as well, and Zido from the English wiki is working on a Norwegian version as well. Additional Help is still sought and would be very much appreciated!
