Hi. The administrators of NSider Forums have had a chat with me because they think the name of the NSider Wiki makes it sound offcial. I'm wondering if I can change the name of the wiki to "Unofficial NSider Wiki". Thanks, Maverick (I would prefer if you replied on NSider Wiki, but it's your choice)

Sorry if you have already got this message, but your Angela template is broken up from the new mediawiki, 1.10 alpha, so I know theres many bugs, but I would just like to comment that the link that shows it on other wikis, is well broken, see here to see what I mean. [edit] Runescape Wiki (again)

Apologies for reposting down here, but I was afraid hyou might not see my post further up. I made the current wikia forums less visible, but there've been some complaints - not to mention we've already got someone saying they got hacked by our brand-new phpBB forums. Eucarya and I saw the Inside Wikia forums - which strangely weren't live when I checked last - and we think they would be an ideal solution to our current forum problems. If we could possibly get the new forum functionality, that would help immensely.

It's a lot easier for me to see replies if you let me know at my talk page, but I don't mind checking here if I have to.

Different, off-site forums we made at a phpBB host-site. I don't honestly think they got hacked; I'm just saying we've been getting complaints that haven't been helping our forums situation, which is why I'm hoping we could get the beta forums. {{SUBST:Signatures/Oddlyoko}} 23:49, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

When I use the link you just gave me, it tells me to log in, I do, then it redirects me to the Main Page. Then when I try the link again, I have to log in again. It tells me I don't have cookies enabled, at the login screen, but I do, I made sure of it. Oddlyoko talk
If you could rename the current one to "Tavern" and add "Help Desk", "Voting Booth" (and if possible, could that one be sysops and up only to create topics, but all users to post?), and "Events", that should be good. I have two other questions, though. One, should I post on your user talk page on our wiki (runescape:User talk:Angela), or here? Two, is there any chance that the forum creation ability would be given to bureaucrats?

Hi Angela! I have a big request for you. Recently I found a wiki in spanish about beekeeping, then I wrote some messages to the bureaucrat that maintains it and he agreed to bring his wiki to Wikia. I made a request for a new wiki, it was approved and we have a new wiki: http://es.beekeeping.wikia.com/wiki/Portada We have the permission to bring all the articles from that wiki(http://www.culturaapicola.com.ar/wiki/index.php/Portada) to the new wiki, but the problem is that I need some help, because there are many articles on that wiki. It depends what you mean by that. If you mean an official business partnership, then it's possible, but that's something that would have to be arranged by staff. If you just mean an informal "sister site" type arrangement, then that might be possible as long as the community there doesn't feel you are just advertising another site with no benefit to them. Hallo, I am new here since 27. May 2007. I already discussed this problem in the Forum:Help desk. Because nobody could give me an advice, how to solve the following problem, I was suggested to ask "the staff".

I want to open a new Wiki with both, german and english content and interwiki links, which connects the english content with the according german content just like it is done in the english and german Wikipedia. Is that possible and if yes, how? To try this, I played a little bit with my user "accounts". In user account 1) http://www.wikia.com/wiki/User:Tirkon I can set an interwiki link to "[[de:Benutzer:Tirkon]]" which aims for user account 3) http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Benutzer:Tirkon . And in user account 3) http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Benutzer:Tirkon I can set an interwiki link to "[[en:User:Tirkon]]" which aims for user account 1) http://www.wikia.com/wiki/User:Tirkon . But this two accounts are actually not two accounts but only one in the english Wikia. Although account 3) http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Benutzer:Tirkon is located in the english wikia it nevertheless can be adressed with de:. This is confusing and not consistent to Wikipedia.

But should not the interwiki link "[[de:Benutzer:Tirkon]]" in account 1) http://www.wikia.com/wiki/User:Tirkon aim to the account 2) http://de.wikia.com/wiki/Benutzer:Tirkon in the german wikia??? This would be consistent with Wikipedia usage. -- Tirkon 14:19, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

The central wikia is different to most of them since interlanguage links point to pages on this wiki rather than to a different wiki. If you want content in two languages, it's easier to make 2 separate wikis. Otherwise pages like Benutzer:Tirkon appear in the main namespace rather than the user namespace. I meant different to the other wikis we host. Usually if you type fr:title you would go to a different site that is in french. However, on this wiki (www.wikia.com), fr:title goes to a page on this same wiki. What exactly are you trying to do? Do you want to start a new wiki? We are interested in all forms of user feedback here, but couldnt make out what the stats represented, as there were no headings on the columns. Are these users or pages accessed. From our Google Analytics returns we get about 5000 user a week accessing 15,000 pages, so I am assuming they are pages. What do the increase percentages relate to? Why aren't there numbers for every day? etc etc. Happy to work with you to get this sorted as it should be useful and a convenient check against GADr Joe Kiff 19:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Greetings Angela,

Would it be possible to find out how much visitor traffic scratchpad.wikia.com is receiving from www.hongfire.com? And/or general traffic data on articles in w:c:scratchpad:Category:IllusionGames? Many of the IllusionGame mini-wiki's editors are anons, and the nature of the mini-wiki probably gives it an even more skewed reader-to-contributor ration I believe. Most of the interview excerpts wouldn't be from other websites, but magazines. I don't understand what the deal is with uploading music tracks! Memory Alpha uses music tracks to demonstrate theme tunes of the various Star Trek series. I know that MA is operating under a different licence, but it would seem to make sense for the music wikis here to demonstrate what tracks sound like by including a few excerpts! I noticed that you fixed a blanking out of the Icarus Verilog ABOUT page. Thanks for that. This is the second time that it happened and I'm enabling protection from that page to see if that prevents it, or at least drags the perpetrator out of anonymity. Is this something that is just "going around" or is there a software bug that is doing this?

The 2 known admins, Res.evil guy and Warsman11 don't edit! Warsman11's las contribution was in September whilst Res.evil guy has never edited! Also i'd like to point out that i edit all the time on nearly every day for the last five months. since then most editers are unsigned IPs. Forerunner

I made the Background on one of my wikias black, but the words didn't all change, like if i used a template the words that dont link 2 other stuff are in another shade of black. Do you have any knowlege of MediaWiki:Monobook.css? cos like loads of people ask you before the lower admins Forerunner

Is it true that if you vandelise Wikia <this one> you get banned easier and is it also true that you'd be automaticaly banned on every other wikia or is this just rumoUr spreading around the net? Forerunner

Getting banned from the Central Wikia doesn't mean you're automatically banned on all wikis. However, there is a cross-wiki ban tool that can be used if someone is persistently vandalising many sites. Angela talk 15:42, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, this is the Son of the Witch-King and I am helping the Call of Duty Wiki's administrator Pw3djoe make the wiki grow. So far I have edited about 34 articles out of 45 in the wiki and I think I could do better as a administrator. So far Pw3djoe has not been too active lately so I am asking you to somehow help me become an administrator on the Call of Duty Wiki. If you can I would be thankful but for some reason you can't, you can tell me about another user who can do this.

[edit] RuneScape Wiki Wanted Pages

There seems to be an issue with wanted pages on RuneScape Wiki. Our wanted pages seem to go well over 500 and we are trying to remove many red links. However, some pages that appear in wanted pages do not have the red links when you go to edit them. I've uploaded one image as an example.
When, for example, "Forum:Hyenaste's bank sale" is clicked on, there is a list of pages that the link supposededly exists on. However, when you go to edit any of those pages, the links don't exist (for example, User talk:Jdthegameboy). This isn't the only link that does this, but it had a shorter number of links so I believed it would be the best example. These links have been on wanted pages for several weeks now, and will not go away. I was told to ask you about what the problem may be. Do you have any suggestions for us? --Clv309

Some of these pages were mistakenly recreated in one user's attempt to remove them from wanted pages. As I'm not a sysop (and none are on at the moment), they have not been deleted yet. I'm just not sure if they will still give the same problem once they have been deleted again (if, for some reason, they do however, at least now we know one way to get rid of them). We'd still appreciate someone looking into why the issue appeared in the first place though. Thanks. Clv309

When i was on wanted pages, i crearted a page, doubled back and it was still red. So i wenrt back 4wards and then got onto the wanted pages via links (not using the go back button) and it worked. Try that. Forerunner

This issue has been (mostly) resolved by going to the page where the link supposedly was, clicking edit, then resaving the page without making any changes. However, we're still left with several pages on the list where, when we go to click on them, is says no pages link there. Some pages stay on the list for days, then (they seem to) eventually disappear and then other times they're removed when the list is purged. Not sure what to do about that. Clv309

Hi, I was wondering if you can help me. I would like to adopt the Honorverse Wiki. I have contacted the two admins but they havent responded. In fact, when I started to edit and add articles to the wiki, there was roughly nine articles since it was founded in 2005. I started to add articles two weeks ago. I added around roughly 80 articles, organized the articles, and went to different Honor Harrington forums to enlist help. I got one user, who has since added many articles since he started a few days ago. Between me and this new user, we have added up to an additional 90 articles. Wikideath is dead and I'd like to take it over. I emailed the owner about 2 months ago and he hasn't responded. The Wiki has only one article in it. Can I be made the new owner or can a new one be created called DeathWikia, replacing Wikideath? Thanks!

Hi

I've been a major contributing editor at familyguy.wikia.com and americandad.wikia.com

On both of those sites I probably have the most, or near the most constructive edits to each site and have been a valued member to those communities. However, the admins currently there are somewhat inactive currently, and I would like to be able to upload a few new logos to both wiki as well and I apparently need the admin access to get through the protected pages. If you can grant it thanks, but if not can you direct me to someone who can, thanks

Since those are both active wikis that have logos already, I suggest you upload a logo for discussion first rather than making it the logo straight away. You can do that calling it Logo.png instead of Wiki.png. Angela talk 07:32, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey Angela. I have successfully pulled two former/part-time good-faith editors from Wikipedia and put them on the task of helping me jump-start this Wikia.

But as a convience to User:RobJ1981 and User:The Hybrid and future editors that we are bringing in from Wikipedia, and I know this is a very bold request, I am requesting bureaucrat status for my account on that Wikia so that I can make the two of them sysops and any other trusted full-time editors, sysops. I have been on this Wikia since 2005 (first under the name SWD316), the only full-time admin on the Wikia, and I have so far brought in a number of editors, and they have as well, to start expanding the project (although only a couple have stayed full-time). I have been busy removing fair use violations and setting up the basic foundation to where the project is going and how articles are going to be written. I'm currently working triple duty right now as a full-time editor on Wikipedia, admin on Pro Wrestling Wikia and an admin on another Wiki, so I'm not going to dedicate 100% strickly to Pro Wrestling Wikia, so admin actions are being put off until I come back, so thats why I am needing bureaucrat status to promote other editors for when I'm not there. Plus, this also reduces the need to disturb you every time we need another admin :)

I removed isbecause it was on the wrong list. i coppied it but i guess i 4gpt 2 paste it. My Laptop has low memory so it stops the AOL from Copying as it could make the Memory even shorter

Well i was planning on a summery:moving anti-atheist comment to the pile. cos i did delete it. Right click was broken though all of a sudden stopping me from pasting. I could have added a Notebook, but i should have rather refreshed my toolbar settings, getting rid 0of memory, but 2 much was used for me 2 do that.

I created Chief2552 ages ago and he already knew cos i said on Chief2552s page that it was a sockpuppet designed cos an error in Forerunner stopped me from switchin skin preferences to monobook but after a month a went on a school computer and managed 2 switch it there. There's no limit on the number of admins, so you don't need to remove them in order to add new ones. I suggest you leave them a message on their talk pages or email them first to see if you can convince them to come back to the wiki. I think that would be better than leaving them to remain inactive. Bub is obviously still active. He edited just a few days ago to comment on a CurrentBigThing's request for adminship. Just because he said he was busy a month ago really is no reason to try and remove useful admin tools from him without discussing that with him. Neomessiah is the founder of that wiki so I don't really understand why you'd want to remove adminship from him. It's quite possible he will come back - people often take a wiki break for a few months. You could discuss this with the swfanon community one he has been gone for a year. Hello! Sorry for giving you so much work, but is it possible to do the following things on TranslateWiki:

  • The possibility to make titles in the main namespace in lowercase like in Wiktionary (but only in main namespace if possible)
  • Enable interwikilinks to Wiktionary
  • Make a namespace Translation:. (There are already a few pages, see here)
    • Make a namespace TL:, which automatically redirects to the namespace Translation: That is easier for linking etc.

Again, sorry for giving you so much work, but it is not urgent.

  • It is important, like in Wiktionary. I know this would breaking links, but now TranslateWiki is still small, and most links link already to pages in lowercase.
  • Yes, but I mean on the left, under the tools.
  • In the Wiktionaries, there are translations at the pages of words in the content language. The words in other languages link to the translation into the content language. In TranslateWiki, there are translations at every page of every language. Instead of updating every translation of one word, I use a template for each word. For those templates, I would use this namespace. That would be better to have a 'separation' between translation templates and normal templates.
    If an automatic redirect is not possible, then would be the namespace TL: better, instead of the long Translation:.

About the interwiki links, maybe you're right.
I know OmegaWiki, and that was also a proposal for a Wikimedia project, but it didn't become a Wikimedia project. I think it is because OmegaWiki uses Wikidata, and that is not easy for new users. The idea of OmegaWiki is good, but maybe TranslateWiki would better fit in the policy of Wikimedia projects.

We'd prefer to deal with the problems you see with the new skin instead of simply removing it. We're also running tests to show how the new skins lead to increased visitors and editors, which is why it's important for wikis to maintain the default. I'm not sure if maybe I've overloaded the wiki-to-blog message, but nothing seems to be posting. I tried posting a piece yesterday which did not appear, so I attempted to fix what I thought might be the problem. I made several more attempts, just trying different small tweaks for things that have sometimes caused hangups in the past (punctuation in title line, formatting in body, spacing issues, version of image file, etc.). Nothing seemed to work, so I finally gave up on that one and posted a new piece for today. Unfortunately, the new post is not showing up either, and I'm afraid that messing with it any more at this point might just make things worse.

So... I tried reposting the entry from the 5th, which was the first one to "go missing" before the blog came back online today. It hasn't posted after 5ish hours, so I guess it's still buggy somehow. I've looked at the code every way I can think to, and reworked the post a dozen times since it first appeared broken, but I really can't see anything significantly different in this post from several others of the same form that have successfully posted in the past. I may just be missing some small, obvious thing, but I don't get it. Hi im Joshua (User: Link Prime). People call me link due to liking of Transformers. I was wondering if you knew who is taking care of TELETRAAN 1. The wiki is not one of the best wikis i've seen but its got loads of info. Im not trying to critisise it but I would like to take on the positions in charge of the wiki so that I can change a few things to make it better. I might of not as been here as long as other members but I would like to take care of it. Like for eg. There are some Cursing words that i would like to get rid of. And stop the people who Vandelise the wiki. My love for the "Transformers" Is off the charts and I can't stand around and let this happen. If it wasen't for Teletraan 1 I would not know a quarter of my knowledge.
